100% Organic Baby

Kallan helped me plant some seeds this past Spring. Much to our surprise the fruits of our labors have paid off! We have had lots and lots of cherry tomatoes, much better than any you can buy at a store. We have carrots, a cucumber, strawberries, and cerano peppers (for daddy). We also planted a pumpkine vine, but nothing ever came from it. I think we planted it too late. We will be getting ready to plant for the fall here soon!

A New Girl in Town!

Our neighbors and good friends had their first baby girl. Mike, Kallan and I went down the street to post an "It's a Girl" sign in their front yard. Kallan was so excited to carry the sign down the street. Once her and Mike got it in the ground and she realized it was not coming back home with us she was pretty devastated. She got over it pretty quick and we had a birthday party to go to where she had a blast!

Say Cheese

Kallan was really amused by me taking pictures of the caterpillar. She insisted that I take a few of her too, by the tomato plant of course!

The VERY Hungry Caterpillar!

We've been watching this caterpillar on my tomato plant for a few days. I knew it was eating the leaves, but it was just too fun to watch to move. Since it was away from the actual tomatoes and only eating the leaves I let it stay. Today we relocated him to another bush across the street. He was really getting too comfortable here.

Sweet Dreams and Flutterflies

Kallan now has a "Big Girl Bed"! She REALLY loves it and was sleeping in it all night long for about two weeks! Now she is back in bed with us in the middle of the night because her 2 year molars are coming in.

5 Weeks and counting for new baby sister to make her appearance! Kallan talks about her everyday. She likes to hug and kiss her baby sister. She likes to pull out baby sisters diapers and put them on her dolls. Today we brought out the swing and bouncy seat and some of Kallan's clothes from when she was a newborn. I registered for the hospital and it's all starting to become a reality, we will soon be a family of 4!

Home Sweet Home!

Grandpa Dabbert came for a visit in June. Grandma & Grandpa Dabbert sent Kallan a Little Tikes House for the backyard. She LOVES it and plays out there daily! Here is a clip of Grandpa & Kallan playing house for the first time!

Heat Wave

It's been over 100 degrees here for the past few days. Kallan likes to stay cool by playing in the hose.

Super Daddy!

Who said Dads can't do everything??

It's getting hot in here!

A little bird flew into our fireplace. Mike had to take it apart to get him out. Poor guy!

Wild Animal Park

Quack! Quack!

For about a month we had a pair of ducks who came to visit us daily. Kallan got such a kick out of it. The ducks got a little cozy here as they would often be at the front door quacking quite loudly asking for breakfast at 7 a.m.

Take time to smell the flowers!

Kallan loves to smell flowers. She also likes to help me garden. It goes something like this: Mommy digs a hole to put plant flowers, Kallan shovels the dirt back in the hole!

It's been a while...

Here is a picture of Kallan and Mike in a Jumper at a neighbor's "Pirate" birthday party. She LOVED dressing up!

My First Dinner! By Kallan Walsh

Tonight I ate my FIRST Dinner. My parents have been trying to get me to eat for 17 months. I wanted to see how long I could hold out on them! Can you believe the past two days I even had mommy feeding me chocolate tofu ice cream sandwiches because that's all she thought I would eat? I decided tonight would be a good night to give them a really good tickle! They were eating Sun-dried Tomato and Cheese Raviolis (If only they had made this dish sooner!). I asked my mommy for her fork with a ravioli on it, I took it and took a BIG bite! You should have seen the look on my parents face! They could not believe it! I got them to clap for me every time I took another bite. It was quite amusing for me. Anyway, I don't think I will eat for another few days because I am sure they will probably try to get me to eat spinach or carrots next. I don't think I am quite ready to stomach that!

Anatomy Lesson #101

Kallan likes to remind us first thing in the morning about all the parts of our face. Of course to demonstrate with meaning she has to stick her finger deep into your eyes, nose, tug on your ears and dig into your mouth to find your teeth. Who wouldn't want to wake up this way every morning?
